Hello!
If you’re receiving this in your inbox, it’s because many moons ago you subscribed to my newsletter called “Ghost Nebula” which, it turns out, was what some might refer to as a ‘bad idea’. In the space since abandoning that project, I’ve learned some lessons about right time, right place. And so, I’m bringing this puppy back from the dead. This time around, the goal is to publish what is essentially an art journal, peppered with thoughts on plants (because plants and art are inextricably linked for me) and probably also like photos from hikes I take and maybe some other surprises that will reveal themselves to me later. OK! If you’d like to stick around for my newsletter 2.0, which I’ve decided to call ‘supernature’, happy to have you! If it’s maybe not your thing, smell ya later! <3 If you stumbled upon me because of some other clashing of the cosmos, hi! Subscribe if ya want!
Onto business.
Goals for this iteration of my online presence:
1- Not overthinking it.
My tendency to overthink is so often actually just a stall tactic, a little self-preservation technique that I employ when I’m fearful. Not today.
2- Sharing some drawings.
I like making them. I think that art wants to be witnessed. So here we are.
3- Finding & fostering an online community.
Instagram is a hellscape, social media is garbage, and I’m not having much luck at finding like-minded folks in my tiny Upstate NY town. Do you want to be my friend Y/N?
[Here’s some things I drew this week]

Meditate as a snail. Because pretending is fun! Because understanding other perspectives is fun! Because it’s just a little bit weird and that’s also fun.
This interview. Jónsi of the band Sigur Ros talks about his new scent-and-sound-based botanical art exhibition at the National Nordic Museum in Seattle. Sounds cool and strange and immersive and I wish I could attend.
This essay:
Lastly—a journal prompt, of sorts, that I came across that felt good and fruitful.
— What’s the last thing you did that felt like resetting your entire existence? Maybe it has nothing to do with self-care, but just offers a semblance of starting fresh. (source)
That’s all for now!
